系统的日志消息包括最多80个字符，百分号。顺序号与时间是可选的配置，如果配置，则百分号紧跟在顺序号与时间的后边。消息以这样的格式显示：
3750交换机显示信息的格式如下：
seq no：timestamp：%facility-severity-MNEMONIC：description (hostname-n)
hostname是交换机的名字，n指的是本交换机是在堆栈成员的号码。
3560，3550，2970，某些2960系统信息的格式如下：
seq no：timestamp：%facility-severity-MNEMONIC：description

默认，一个交换机发送系统信息与debug消息到一个日志进程。堆栈交换机的成员产生消息，并且在消息的最后加上它的hostname，形式为hostname-n。n是堆栈的成员号，值为1-9。堆栈交换机的成员把这些系统的消息以及debug消息发送到堆栈的主交换上的日志进程。虽然主交换也是堆栈的一个成员，但是它在产生系统消息的时候不加上它的主机名。日志进程控制系统信息发送的目的地，比如：logging buffer，终端线路，或者是UNIX的syslog服务器，取决于你的配置。当然也会发送到控制台。
当日志进程被禁止的时候，系统消息只会被发送到控制台。）
